• Choose a cage with a retractable tray, so as not to take a canary in your hands when you clean the cage - this can lead to stress or death of the bird.
• Put sand on the bottom. It is necessary for good digestion of canaries. You can buy at the pet store or wash and dry the river sand.
• Every day, wash the tank for drinking water and bathing.
• Food should not just pour, and change every day. Canaries peck at what they really need in complex feed.
• Avoid drafts and heat. The tropics made the canary a very gentle creature. They can catch a cold from the draft, and get a sunstroke in the sun.
•    With good care canary life lasts 10 years or more .

Where to place the cage?

• First you need to find a place where there is no draft!
• It is better not to keep the birds in the kitchen, where a lot of harmful fumes.
• If you have dogs and cats, then make sure that they do not get to the cage.
• Smoking in the room where the bird is extremely undesirable.
• In the first two or three weeks, put the cage so that your new pet is disturbed as little as possible. Give the bird
• the opportunity to get used to you and the new place of residence.

How often to clean the cage?

   Not for nothing they say: "cleanliness is the guarantee of health!". You will save your pet from a lot of trouble if you regularly monitor the cleanliness in the cage.

   At the bottom of the cage, you can pour a special sand (it is sold in pet stores). It can be changed once a week or as it is polluted. Many lay down paper. It is desirable to change it at least once every two, three days.

How many times to feed the bird?

   There are options too. You can feed every day, pouring 1-2 teaspoons of dry food. Or, once in 2-3 days, pour twice as much. 

   Knowing the features of your bird, you will roughly know its diet.

Do I need to close the bird?

   Kenar is a songbird. Therefore, if you do not want to wake up with your pet in the summer or on the weekend, it is better to close the cage with a piece of cloth in the evening.

Let the bird fly, or not?

Before you let the bird fly around the room, ensure it is completely safe:

• close and curtain the windows.
• remove hot appliances, pots, cups, etc. 
• remove from the room other animals (dogs, cats). 
• be careful with the cabinets and walls (many birds got into an unpleasant situation, falling behind the cabinet)
