5 Interesting facts about Canaries 

Canary belongs to the genus of canary finches. Her closest relative: canary finch, lives in Russia (his settlement area from the west to the Leningrad and Pskov regions).  

   Finch - family of the most extensive detachment of songbirds. These include: finches, chizhi, tap-dance, goldfinches, crossbills, greenfinchs, lentils, linnet, bullfinches and other birds, as well as canaries. Many of the above are familiar to us not only by name.

   We constantly meet with these charming and dissimilar birds in nature. And, sometimes, we do not even suspect that not only the canary, which is generally difficult to imagine otherwise, like at home, in a beautiful cage and singing, but also all of the above birds to each other's closest relatives. 

So close that inter-species crosses are possible, as a result of which very interesting, though often not capable of further reproduction, hybrids are obtained.
